Pedestrian crossing activated

Puffin crossing (large version)The new pedestrian crossing on North Quay is being switched on this afternoon.

The signals are the last ones to go live in the Boot Hill area as the priority was to commission the junctions first.

As with the other new crossings, this one is a puffin which means it has a detector that stops traffic for as long as it takes for a pedestrian to cross.

This will make crossing the road easier for anyone with mobility problems as there is no need to rush to cross the road.
