Esplanade works

Esplanade - pedestrian island (large version)Temporary two-way traffic lights are currently on The Esplanade near Enzo’s.

The lights will be in use for the next few weeks while the central island is built for the new pedestrian crossing in the area.

Unfortunately this will inevitably cause some delay to traffic.

  1. Paul Says:

Maybe you need temporary traffic lights on the kings street junction with the temporary kings roundabout. The trouble is there is a constant flow of traffic coming from over the bridge, turning right down Commercial Road. This makes pulling out onto the roundabout from Kings Street almost impossible causing huge tailbacks.

      Hi Paul,

It was recognised that this would be an issue when we set the diversion route along Weymouth Way, as local traffic for car parks or Preston would go through town.

To help the flow of traffic, a stop/go board is used to stop traffic on the roundabout and let a flow of vehicles out of King Street.
