New road layout

Westham phase 2 traffic management (large version)

On early Monday morning the road layout on Westham Roundabout will change to a mini-roundabout.

The large coned roundabout has been kept for as long as possible, as this mini-roundabout will cause traffic to move more slowly around the area.

The mini-roundabout is being put in place now so that work can start on the new splitter islands needed for the junction.

It will also allow workers to put ducting in areas that haven’t been reached so far and to build a retaining wall next to the lake. This wall will allow the road to be widened at the Westham end of Swannery bridge.

Hi, I would just like to know what is going to happen this weekend with the sea food festival being in hope square, what will happen to the buses and what route will they take.

      Hi Stephanie,

Boot Hill will be open to two-way traffic this weekend.

With Hope Square closed for the seafood festival, we knew that the only way to keep traffic moving in Weymouth was to work with southern gas to get Boot Hill open to two-way traffic.

Buses will be able to use this route in and out of town.
