Daylight working

Because of the close proximity to residents’ homes, we do not plan to work on the junctions overnight.

Normal working hours will be from 7.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, depending on the type of work being done.

If work is required on a Saturday, it will normally be from 7.30am to 1pm.

Although working through the day and night would allow us to complete the junction works quicker, the noise and light from night works would make living conditions awful for local people.

Really? 07:30 to 5:30. I work near this junction and believe me there has been no-one on this roundabout nor the round about that joins weymouth way to the main bridge into town.

My anger stems solely from the lack of urgency there seems to be over the construction. Im all for this vital scheme but please please do something to speed up the construction phase. Have you actualy askeed any locals about night working? At the very least you should be utilising the long Summer days and working until least 9 pm and every weekend as well. Please tell me why you can only work on the sites from 7.30 until 5.30.

Really? I think it’s yet another way of scrimping and saving money whilst trying to cause maximum chaos of local roads. How do other councils such as Bournemouth do the work through the night and yet they have the same proximity issues as every other town?
