The new pedestrian crossing on North Quay is being switched on this afternoon.
The signals are the last ones to go live in the Boot Hill area as the priority was to commission the junctions first.
As with the other new crossings, this one is a puffin which means it has a detector that stops traffic for as long as it takes for a pedestrian to cross.
This will make crossing the road easier for anyone with mobility problems as there is no need to rush to cross the road.
Work will be taking place on Sunday 30 January on the footpath outside the borough council offices on North Quay.
The final ducts are being put in for the new pedestrian crossing on North Quay.
Pedestrians will be directed to cross over to the footpath on the harbour side of the road.
Work will be taking place on Thursday and Friday night to surface North Quay between the council offices and Harbour Junction.
Three-way lights will be in place for the work from 8pm to 6am.
It is hoped that the work will be finished on Thursday. Should Friday night be needed, work will not start until 9pm, this is to allow people attending the bonfire and firework event to get home without disruption.
